Friday 3 February 2023 at 20.00 at Malga Col del Vento on the Asiago plateau there will be a dinner with the author and photographer Gigi Abriani who will present his book: The custodians of the high lands. Tales of transhumance.

Gigi, over time, dedicated himself to photographic research of light and lighting that led him to publish in 2017 the book Light in Silence, a work set on the Altopiano dei Sette Comuni, in the places of the Great War.

In 2018, Gigi Abriani published Sentieri nella Notte, a collection of images of Mount Pasubio and the road of the 52 Galleries. His third work, Vita Ramenga, is a personal research on the work of the pastor who shares emotions, tensions and traditions, representing a historical documentation of a world unknown to contemporaries.

The book The Guardians of the Highlands. Tales of transhumance will be presented on February 3 in the Malga. The research was conducted by interacting with transhumant shepherds, including Tita Pernechele, protagonist of Vita ramenga.

Rosa Pastora also gave Gigi a diary of her life that inspired the publication of I custodi delle terre alte. This book contains the life stories, details of the trade and hidden professions of the highland shepherds, and portraits and landscapes of individuals and families. The book was written for young people and offers a different perspective on the world of pastoralism.
