BAPTISTS PROJECT

Baptists Project brainchild of Omar Castle and Lamberto Gregorio during the summer of 2010, after having spent years in the historic Sir Duke (Paduan Queen cover band and Cult) have decided to tackle the challenge of making a tribute to the musical genius Italian, Lucio Battisti.

The project was born from the desire to bring in clubs and on stages "eternal" music summer and still always lamented the great artist, considered one of the greatest personalities in the history of Italian music and develops thanks to the thought shared that Lucio Battisti has left to posterity a vast amount of material that despite the passage of time, it does not show any sign of years.
Indeed! There is a strong belief that, performing in a tribute inspired by a modern sound does is re-confirm what those songs remain unchanged and timeless, to demonstrate how his music is still relevant and what has been a reference point for all contemporary musicians.

The blend, finally, of the band members, arising from all previous and different musical experiences, gave birth to the unique sound of the band, which covers the period "Mogoliano" presenting itself, where possible, with a key Rock, modern and impact, influenced by contemporary sounds and a musical very engaging to viewers.

Who attends concerts, lives more than two hours of music and emotion, magazines with contemporary expression of well 6 young musicians in love with artist who with his creativity has been able to change the history of Italian music.

Since the early beginnings on the music scene, the Baptists Project are already been involved in numerous live performances both on summer stages in special venues for live music, where it's always been reconfirmed a high public approval rating ranging the first students of Lucio Battisti to young people who were preparing to (re) discover this songwriter who, no doubt, has never passed out of fashion.

The passion that brought them together in considering Baptists of the greatest songwriters of all time, took them to study and propose the pieces with a whole new sound, modern, energetic, youthful and engaging for all generations that appreciate or have enjoyed his music, creating two distinct musical sessions: a standard and a completely acoustic, to be adopted depending on the needs of the location in which they perform.

An important contribution was also the musical recognition earned 24 September 2011, when the band won with the song "Anne", the jury prize in the Festival "singing contest" sing the author Padua dedicated just for the occasion to Lucio Battisti.

On 20 June 2012 won official selection for best tribute band of Lucio Battisti, participating in the musical review called by national award Poggio Bustone historical The Place of Rome. On the jury there were Told Mariano (President and historian arranger Lucio Battisti), Luciano Torani (one of the most well known and respected audio engineers in Italy) and Sara Borsarini (historical voice of the first Baptists).

On 9 September (anniversary of the death of Lucio Battisti) perform on the Festival stage Poggio Bustone with their entire exhibition to remember the great Lucio getting official recognition as the first cover band recognized by Knoll Bustone.
