Tuesday, July 14 will open the 11TH Season, art and Literature & Music Culture Association.  The inaugural concert, planned at 21 in s. Giustina di Roana, will star two musicians:Christine Van der Merwe (soprano) and Fulvio Galanti (piano), who will perform in a concert that will bring us back in.

Music by Weill, Satie, Poulenc, Britten, Gershwin and Porter will be the soundtrack of "Café concert", a RAID in cabaret, evoking a world out of the ordinary; a place where the public finds himself in a smoky atmosphere, in a dim light that obscures and confuses, in a context where singing and acting come together in the narrative of human affairs and feats of ordinary people good and bad heroes suspended and swinging between reality andillusions. In the 20th century, probably attracted by this charm, more of a musician among those that characterized the so-called ' academic music scene, dabbled in this challenge. And the result is certainly interesting, thanks to the catchy blend of the characteristics of a genre where you must sing, recite, even dance, if required and those harmonic-melodic music so called ' educated '.

The association between the protagonists of the concert comes steadily from intent to unite and enrich personal experience gained earlier from a long and significant concert activity both in Italy and abroad; common predilection for vocal chamber music is a reference that results in choices of repertoire, dedicated exclusively to the vast production international Lieder, including one inspired by the popular tradition, ranging from 700 to 900 '.

Already individually awarded in national and international competitions ("Agora" city of Rome, Pisa, Stresa, Concours National de France) and perfezionatisi courses and Master Classes in voice and piano with g. Souzay in Luxembourg ("Lied et Melodíe Française"), with e. Dara in Turin ("the art of being on stage") and the Musical Laboratory in Milan with m. Canary ("a piano in the vocal chamber music") , and with a. Juvarra and a. Chandra at "friends of music" in Florence, the two musicians have an artistic activity that brought them to perform, important guests Festivals and Musical Associations ("Dino Ciani", Piemonte in Musica, Andorese, Festival Musical Summer Mistà, Amici della Musica, Circolo degli Artisti, Ars Nova, Teatro Alfieri, Turin – Turin, Auditorium Orpheus International Festival Antidogma Musica "", "" & Music Association-Roana) with rich and diverse programs, dedicated to different aspects of European Chamber music and vocalism outside Europe, playing in Turin, Cuneo, Novara, Milano, Stresa, Bologna, Florence, Rome, Ancona, Sassari, Aosta, Rovigo, Perugia, San Remo.
The Duo has been awarded, among others, the 2° (1° not assigned), and the Special Prize at the international contest "Golden Palm" of Finale Ligure and the 1° prize at the International Music Competition "Caffa Righetti in Cortemilia."
In 2001 he improved with Irwin Gage and Esther de Bros in a Lieder Interpretation Master classes held in Florence. In 2008 he was invited to perform at the State Conservatory of Lima (Peru).

For several years he collaborated with various Ensembles in the realization of events focused on modern and contemporary music (monograph "homage to Frank Zappa", "the piano Chamber music of the second half of the twentieth century", etc)

Christine Van der Merwe is currently Professor of singing at the civic Musical Institute "a. Vivaldi" di Busca (Cn) and the vocal preparation of some choral groups, including the high school choir of Cuneo, who directs.
Fulvio Galanti is a professor at the Conservatoire "g. Verdi" in Turin and keeps
Piano lessons and music ensembles at the musical Institute of Borgo San Dalmazzo (Cn).

At the end of the event will be followed by a small reception.
