Bells concert at Asiago, San Matteo Cathedral Choir Asiago July 31, 2015
Friday 31 July 2015 at 21.00 the Duomo San Matteo di Asiago houses theBells concert", a musical event of Asiago Choir together with the choir of the Schola Cantorum of Asiago and the Plateau Choralgroup.
A feast for our bells and a moment of joy for the community together with all choirs.
LE CAMPANE DI ASIAGO
The bells are now displayed in plain view in the churchyard after the renovation of the Bell Tower.
The history of Asiago bells is known to have been told in the book "Le stagioni di Giacomo" by Mario Rigoni Stern.
The six bells were arriving from Verona in 1922 from the same foundry that had melted. Altogether weighed 97 pounds and take them to the top of the campanile took two trucks. The Matìo was the largest: then was the Maria, Giovanna, the tones, the Rita and modest.
The parish decided for this restructuring, adding two other bells, thus completing the "choir" of these precious symbols advantag.
