Sunday 5 July theAsiago plateau is invited to the birthday party of the airport, who turns 91 years. There, in addition to a joyful festive atmosphere, a Welcome drink and plane wash, dj sets, helicopter flights, beach volleyball and typical lunch on reservation.
AIRPORT ROMEO SARTORI
The airport is dedicated to the memory of Romeo Sartori, born in Canove di Roana the May 16, 1897. During the great war he was awarded the silver medal for Military Value.
TheAsiago plateau has always been considered an optimal place for gliding, and just above the skies of Asiago is made the first flights without engine in Italy: in 1924 was beaten 1° national record duration with no airplane engine. During the Second World War the runway was destroyed by Nazi-fascists departments to prevent the landing of Allied planes supplying the local resistance, rather rooted on vicentino.
