On the morning of Saturday, July 6, 2019,a memorial ceremony will be held in Asiago to remember the fallen of the Plateau in the Franco-Jacob repression of July 1809.
On 9 July 1809,the Plateau rose up against French impositions demanding freedom and autonomy and refusing to pay taxes.
After a first defeat, the army French regained control of the countries with a bloody repression that resulted in the slaughter of more than two thousand high-riseflats, mainly women, the elderly and children. In Asiago alone, 70 people were killed and their bodies exposed to trees as a sign of the defeat of the cimbri.
At 11 a.m.,after the S.Messa sung in Cimbro by the roana choir, from the church of San Rocco will start the parade along Course IV November in memory of the Fallen.
There will be the LusianaBand, the Historical Re-enactors of the Veronese Pasque,the Cimbri group of Recoaro,the Earthonary Re-Enactors,the Tyrol Schutzens and the RoanaChoir.
The parade will reach the square of the Cathedral, where theflag raiserwill be carried out.
It will then resume at 11.30am,towards the RemembrancePark, with the laurel wreathlaid.
At 12:30 p.m., we will move to Montana Community Headquarters for a little refreshment for the historical soldiers and the authorities.
