Culture & music-concert: "journey into America: from musicals to jazz"

Cinema Teatro Palladium-Cesuna-Saxofollia-Quartet concert the music of Gershwin, Bernstein, Ellington, Evans-Monday 21 July

The concert season of Culture & music, which, in the important and varied program, will appeal to fans of musicals, jazz and swing, presenting the gripping Saxofollia Quartet Concert, Cinema Teatro Palladium Cesuna, 21: 00 on Monday 21 July.

Trip to America is a tribute to the United States of America and to figures who made great music in this continent that, more than others, has been able to take advantage of the saxophone and its different tonal characteristics.
The concert program, dedicated to the music of the twentieth century, consists of excerpts from the works of Leonard Bernstein and George Gershwin, composers who have used the saxophone in classic as bridge to the new sounds of swing or ethnic music.
Duke Ellington, the master of swing, Bill Evans, pianist, one of the founders of the cool-jazz, and Joe Zawinul, historian, founder of the Group Weather Report, are the three figures who have, in this show, jazz and its different evolutions.

The Saxofollia Quartet is one of the most active Chamber and recognised in Italy.
First prize in national and international competitions 8, since 1993 a concertized participating in important events including "Concerts at the Capitol" (Rome), "17TH International Stage Saxophone" (AP), "passing Notes" (friends of music, MO), "Villa XXIV And Concerts." (Circolo Culturale Bellunese) (BL), "Villa Solomei" Festival "(PG), the old market Courtyard concerts (VR), Soli deo Gloria (RE), 14th World Saxophone Congress (Ljubljana).
For years collaborated with prestigious orchestras such as La Fenice in Venice, c. Felice, Filarmonica della Scala, Arena di Verona, Teatro dell'Opera di Roma, Teatro Comunale di Bologna, Arturo Toscanini Philharmonic, Orchestra Sinfonica di Sanremo, of Italian Switzerland.
Appreciating the jazz language like that classic, the Quartet boasts a wide range of collaborations with international renowned soloists like Mario Marzi, Eugene Rousseau, Federico Mondelci, Conrad and Andrea Giuffredi, Luca Vignali, Flavio Boltro, Anna Maria Chiuri, Marco Pierobon.
Firmly convinced of the fruitful cooperation between leading musicians are propulsion engine of other organic projects expanded including "Like Strings (with oboe and clarinet soloists)," Bach In Jazz "(original project for 5 saxophones and drums)" Saxofollia and Stefania Rava "(for 4 saxophones and vocals)," Happy End "(for solo voice, Narrator and instrumental ensemble).
Saxofollia affects the discs "homage to j. Francaix," Like "String" and "On the Reed".
