Sala s. Giustina-Roana-music by Mendelssohn, Saint-Saëns, Debussy, Arensky-Monday, August 4

Musical event of great significance is that organized by Culture & music on the evening of Monday, August 4.
At 21.00, at the sala s. Giustina in Roana, will perform in a concert for two pianos, the pianists Ana Vujosevic and Mauro Cecchin, who will accompany the public in an expressive and virtuosic, travel between the music of Mendelssohn, Saint-Saëns, Debussy, Arensky

The concert will begin with Mendelssohn, Prelude and Fugue in f minor, op. 35 No. 5, digging in romantic thought of 800 and half spread over an extremely lyrical melody and deep, sustained by an accompaniment of chords that follow each other forming a harmonic base that continues the tradition of Baroque basso continuo.
The escape, more rigorous and less romantic, contains all stylistic elements used by Bach and his contemporaries.

Follow the famous Danse Macabre by Camille Saint-Saëns.  The same Saint-Saëns edited the transcription for two pianos of this symphonic poem, written in 1874.
It is a "Danse Macabre", an artistic genre born in the late middle ages; in the painting was represented as a dance between men and skeletons, music is an extremely fast waltz and grotesque. In the orchestral version of the theme is introduced by the violin, considered to be the instrument of the devil or of death, and insists on a dissonant interval, the "tritone", defined in the middle ages, diabolus in musica. The musical language is allegorical: each melody instrument, timbre, sound effect represents an element or character of a night scene, spooky and grotesque.

Can't miss Debussy, with one of his most popular pieces, Clair de lune.
Debussy's music depicts a night landscape and warm and soft colours create an atmosphere that takes us back to Visual Impressionist artwork of his French contemporaries.

To follow the waltz in c major, op. 15 No 2, by Anton arensky, composer, little known abroad but much loved in Russia, teacher of Rachmaninov, Skriabin, Medtner. In his music there are influences of Tchaikovsky and German romanticism of Schumann and Brahms, but with elements of traditional Russian folklore. This short piece is part of the first of four suites written originally for orchestra and later transcribed for two pianos by the author.
