Daniele Zovi will present to the public his new book "In Bosco - Leggere la natura su un sentiero di montagna".
The meeting will be held at the Palazzo del Turismo Millepini in Asiago at 17.00.

It's almost dawn, Daniele Zovi finishes preparing his backpack, fastens his boots and leaves his house to go into the woods. In front of him, a thirty-kilometer walk through the Asiago plateau:after passing the tombstone of two partisans a few kilometers from home, he crosses the devastation left byHurricane Vaia,and then climbs towards Mount Portule,stop for the night to rest and look at the stars, and then return to the signs of the trenches along the Italian-Austrian front of the First World War , leaving behind the snow-capped peaks to the north.
Step by step, on these paths we learn to observe and interpret the signs of nature,from the symbioses that give life to lichens to the development of fungi in a stump; we marvel at discovering the footprints left by a deer near a spring or watching an insect skater slip on the water of a puddle; and we are thrilled by the traces that centuries of history have left on the plateau, a place where – noted Rigoni Stern – "there are no castles of nobles, there are no villas of lords, nor cathedrals of bishops, for the simple fact that the land belongs to the people and its fruits belong to everyone as for ancient use".
Once again Zovi proves to be a precious narrator as well as an expert naturalist,able to reveal the constant interweaving of climate, landscape, animals and plants that constitutes the secret life of the forest.
THE AUTHOR DANIELE ZOVI
Daniele Zovi was born in Roana,on the Altopiano dei Sette Comuni, and grew up in Vicenza. He graduated in Forestry Sciences in Padua and for forty years served in the State Forestry Corps,first as an officer and then as a manager. In 2017 he was appointed brigadier general of the Carabinieri-Forestry Command of Veneto and is one of the leading experts in the field of wild animals, author of several treatises on the subject.
For Utet he published Alberi sapienti, antiche foreste (2018), Italia selvatica (2019) and Autobiografia della neve (2020).
For De Agostini he has published two books of fiction for children, Ale and Rovere. The Fantastic Journey of the Trees (2020) and Ale and the Wolves. To the scorperta of the animals of the forest (2021).
