Evening excursion-Naturalistic upstream Historic Val Marie with the plateau, Wednesday, August 14, 2013

The Plateau Guides offerhistorical and naturalistic excursion to Monte Val Marie, Altopiano di Asiago, Wednesday, August 14, 2013.

The meeting is set to 18:00 at the Piazzale dello Stadio del ghiaccio di Asiago.

Duration: half-day excursion. FIX: path easy.

Beautiful evening walk on the slopes of Val Marie from which we can admire the beauty of a summer sunset. Mount Longara is located just north of the hamlet of Gallio, for this is convenient and easy to reach. But the beauty of the landscape and nature has nothing to envy to the main peaks of the chain North of the plateau. From this area you can enjoy a splendid view on the so-called Central Valley, where most of the villages on the plateau. You can also admire the lush pastures surrounded by FIR and beech woods.

And, of course, could not miss the mountain pastures with their special structure and the Alpine pools, artificial environment but unique for flora and fauna in this Karst plateau. The last element that along with the rest contributes to enchant the visitor is the geology: throughout the area there are outcrops of red marble (marble of Asiago) and their physical and chemical properties have spectacular forms (think the crowns of Flowers). At the end of the excursion for those there will be the opportunity to stop and have dinner in a refuge!
