The feast of our Lady of the snows in Conco-5 From 2 August to the Asiago plateau-2018
From 2 to 5 August 2018 in Conco, on theAsiago plateau, is planning one of the warmest of the summer: the traditional feast of the Madonna della Neve.
The Festival of the Madonna della Neve is a great festival, which each year attracts a large number of people both from thePlateau that from the plain.
During the event, at the sports, will be organised different theme nights, with live music and food stands.
On Sunday, there will be the traditional procession with Flower Festival dedicated to the Madonna della Neve and artificial snowfall.
At the conclusion of the feast, a beautiful fireworks display held all those present with the upturned nose.
But the Feast of our Lady of the snows of Conco is also a time to remember the religious significance of this feast.
THE MADONNA DELLA NEVE
A legend, linked to the magnificent Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore, has it that in 358 ad the Madonna appeared in a dream to Pope Liberius, asking him to build a church in
She dedicated. That morning a snowfall blanketed the place where now stands the Basilica: was on 5 August.
For a hundred years the Church was called "Santa Maria della Neve".
Today the miracle of our Lady of the snows in Rome is known all over the world and is considered one of the most important events of our traditions.
Conco wanted the Madonna della Neve as its Patron Saint.
