First World War centenary celebrations in Lusiana, 23-24 may 2015, Asiago plateau

Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 May, on the occasion of the centenary of Italy's entry into the war, Lusiana, in theAsiago plateau, celebrates the event that marked the beginning of a long and tragic period for the whole of Italy and humanity, during which the plateau was involved from the first to the last day.

At 3.55 a.m. of May 24, 1915 a cannon started from Fort Verena sanctioned the entrance of the Kingdom of Italy in World War I.

THE PROGRAM

SATURDAY, 23 MAY

• 16.15 hours Meeting in Rome, start of the parade to Piazza IV Novembre with accompaniment of Banda Musicale di Lusiana;
• ore 16.30 Piazza IV Novembre Raising and honour to the dead, the Mayor's greeting Abdullah Corradin, readings of works by the students of the Istituto Comprensivo "P.M. Pozza" accompanied by the chorus "L'eco delle Valli", reading the names of the fallen of Lusiana and lighting of the Centennial Flame;
• 18.00 hours Archpriestal Church Holy Mass in suffrage of the fallen;
• 22.00 hours to Roana depart for torchlight to Monte Verena;

SUNDAY, 24 MAY

• 7.45 hours monumento ai Caduti in several parishes Raising by Alpine Groups;
• hours 11.00 solemn mass Asiago fresco at Ossario;
• ore 15.30 Sanctuary Madonna del Lazzaretto mass, procession and, to follow, honor to the fallen at the boundary of the square of the Church.

For the occasion a citizen is invited to put to the House of candles in remembrance of the fallen.
