"Hemingway between the Venetian and Cuba lagoons" theatre show in Canove - 21 August 2019

"The Theatre of the Mad" staged in Canove, on the Asiago Plateau

Evening in the name of the show Wednesday, August 21, 2019 at the Teatro Di Canove Hall in Roana, on theAsiagoPlateau.

The theater company Theatre of the Madmen will stage the play entitled "Hemingway between the lagoons of Veneto and Cuba", curated by Giovanni Giusto.

A show steeped in adventure and literature, halfway between the story and the theater-song, which sees a continuous intertwining of references between Hemingway's work and his personal life, full of anecdotes and extraordinary encounters.

The curtain will rise at 9p.m.

HEMINGWAY OF THE LAGUNE VENETE AND CUBA

Ernest Hemingway, with his works, but above all with his "reckless life", has been able to create the image of the great manly old, courageous hunter and indomiraged war correspondent.
These elements are found from the beginning of his career, in the experience of the First World War on the banks of the Piave River, until he chose, for twenty years, his residence in "Finca Vigìa" around Havana, where he wrote in recent years some of his masterpieces inspired by the girl known in Venice, his muse for almost a decade. This crazy love, which is the common thread of the story, rekindles Hemingway's creativity to the point of winning the Nobel Prize. For some years Giovanni Giusto, the director of the Theatre of Mad Men known for his very personal theater-song, spends a lot of time between these two places writing and composing,
finding himself, inevitably, on the trail of the great American writer. The story ranges from the banks of the Piave described in "Beyond the river and among the trees", recalling those places and friends that Hemingway frequented around Venice, to touch those Cuban places that inspired some of his most famous novels; passing through those Havana clubs where Hemingway came across all sorts of characters: Hollywood stars, gangsters, politicians, artists, literati. The performance, then, halfway between literary reading, storytelling and theater-song, is a continuous intertwining of references between Hemingway's work and his life full of anecdotes and extraordinary encounters.
