Saturday 12 October 2024 from 9.00 to 15.30
Goal: Grotta del Lago - Plateau of the Seven Municipalities
Step by step we reach the Luzzi Fields, an area famous for the record temperatures recorded during the winter and for the curious marmots that peep out of their burrows along the path.
After passing an enchanted forest where the larches are tinged with gold in autumn, we enter the mountain pine.
Among this labyrinth we will go in search of a karst cavity where there is water (partly perpetually frozen) of a bright blue color! In this place, a particular microclimate allows the growth of luxuriant plants and the famous Icelandic lichen (Cetraria islandica), a curious food of the ancient Cimbrians and as well as of the inhabitants of Scandinavia.
During the packed lunch the guide will entertain you with stories and anecdotes about mountain animals and their problems due to Climate Change clearly visible here: the ice of the Lake Cave is receding, take advantage of this opportunity to see such an evocative place while it still exists!
An excursion suitable for everyone, to admire the beauty of nature and reflect on the importance of its protection.
