Inauguration of the summer 2016-concert by the pianist Francesco Pulga-music by Schubert, Mendelssohn, Rachmaninov

Twelve years of music in the municipality of Roana in sign of the best talent in the national and international scene: this is the summary of the focus of the new edition of the summer concert season of the Association Artemusica Culture the opening concert is entrusted by the pianist Francesco Pulga, and will take place on Monday at 21.00 in room 18 s. Giustina di Roana.

You will perform music by Mozart, Schubert, Mendelssohn and Rachmaninoff.

The Adagio in b minor KV 540, Mozart is one of the most mysterious and elusive of the Austrian composer. It is the only complete opera that Mozart wrote in b minor tonality which gives the piece a tragic character and strong emotional tension.

Fantasia in f-sharp minor, also called "Sonata", is one of the best examples of stille virtuosity of Mendelssohn. The first movement alternates in fact large sections of menacing and virtuosic arpeggios to sections of thematic development of character more melancholy. The second movement is a Scherzo, of fair weather, which makes the contrast with the Fiery finale even bigger. The concluding Presto is almost a perpetual motion restless and energetic, a great drama.

The sudden op. 90, so compelling in their great creative imagination and dramatic intensity, were composed by Schubert a year before dying and reflect his tormented and tragic inner universe.
The second Sudden is definitely the most famous thanks to its sliding and sweet theme: a set of stairs of fast triplets and sweet before descending and then upward chromatically. The central part is rather gloomy and ominous and strongly opposed to the first theme. This subject material will also return in the tail with its painful to disappoint the hopes of happiness.
The fourth Impromptu in a-flat major hides, beyond a lively and flowing pianism, a dramatic and painful feeling of elegy, influenced by the vision of imminent death.

Rachmaninoff composed the variations op. 42 on the famous theme "La Follia", used by Arcangelo Corelli in the finale of the last opera fifth Sonata for violin and continuo. Theme of folk origin already known since the beginning of the sixteenth century and probably of Portuguese origin («Folia» equals fixed idea) had already been exploited, as well as the famous Sonata Corellian run, also from Scarlatti, Bach, cherubs, Grétry and Liszt.
The initial exposure of the theme in his simple and severe chord line Rachmaninov does follow twenty variations plus a short tail that represents the original idea. The uniqueness of this work atypical compared to usual coordinates Rachmaninoff pianism resides in a harmonic interest that at times oversteps the boundaries of traditional tonality and quiet that in some respects, totally unpublished in the style of its author, invokes the concettosa seriousness of Reger. But beyond the unusual processing commitment what is striking is once again writing piano works smaliziatissima how to search for colors and originality of effects.
