Tuesday, May 23, 2023, from 9.30 am, in Asiago in the hall of the Masks of the Mountain Union Dear Regency of the Seven Municipalities, there will be a day of meeting between local companies that intend to hire staff and those looking for a job, organized by Confcommercio Vicenza and the Employment Center of Schio Thiene.

The initiative called "Meet Work in the Plateau" is promoted by the Veneto Region and Veneto Lavoro, and aims to bring together directly the entrepreneurs of catering and tourist accommodation of the Asiago plateau and surroundings, with candidates to carry out the profession of waiter, cook, assistant cook, bartender, receptionist n andother roles necessary for the staff of the companies.  

Confcommercio and the Employment Center intend to make a concrete contribution to the solution of the problem of staff shortage, in an area with a strong tourist vocation such as the Plateau. 

On this occasion, local companies that can offer job opportunities will be able to meet people who are looking for a job and who may be interested in serving on the plateau during the summer / winter seasons or even for a longer period. The interviews between candidates and companies will be formulated on the basis of the curricula and requests of the companies. 

The initiative is completely free. 

40 hospitality companies and public establishments - therefore bars, pastry shops, shelters and catering activities - have so far given their support to the event, with an overall search for over 60 professionals. It will therefore also be an opportunity for those who, as young people and university students, want to have a seasonal work experience. 

Confcommercio estimates, however, that to cope with the next summer tourist season the territory of the plateau needs at least a hundred workers to be employed with contracts of various kinds. 

To encourage participation in the event, various job proposals have been formulated that provide not only the recruitment of the worker, but also the possibility of guaranteeing him board and lodging for the duration of the contract. Other proposals, on the other hand, favor the hiring of workers who can guarantee continuity to the relationship well beyond the summer season. 

Registration for the selections is still open and it is sufficient for the candidate to access the portal to view all the useful references to the event "Meet Work in the Plateau". Within the page are published the offers to which you can apply with a detailed description of the profiles sought. Suitable candidates will be contacted by the Employment Center and invited to an interview with one or more representatives of the companies participating in the event.

"In general, even here in the Plateau the shortage of personnel and skilled labor is becoming a problem – explains Marianna Lievore, president of the Asiago district of Confcommercio Vicenza -. The tourism sector of the territory, however, is constantly growing and requires adequate staff and also the expectations for the next summer season are good. This is why we decided to organize a real recruiting day, with the aim of bringing together companies looking for personnel with candidates looking for new employment, giving and receiving direct and transparent information, with the hope that the event will be decisive for many companies. Also this initiative - explains the president of the Confcommercio district of Asiago - must be framed in the broader perspective of offering visitors to the plateau an excellent reception service, with quality services. For the summer – underlines Lievore – we focus, as always, on the beauty of our territory, but also on a rich calendar of events and events, which will attract even more visitors. There is therefore a need to create the best conditions also from the working point of view. It should be emphasized – concludes the president – that it is not only the activities of tourist reception and public establishments that are currently looking for personnel, but also those of commerce and those of the business support sector.
