Naturalistic excursion with guides Cima Dodici Plateau, Saturday August 18, 2012
The Highland Guides offer the 'hike to Cima Dodici, Asiago plateau, Saturday August 18, 2012.
The meeting is set to 8:30 at Piazzale dello Stadio del ghiaccio di Asiago.
Excursion duration: full day. Fix path: challenging.
This event is also repeated Sunday 2 September 2012; many other excursions will be offered during the summer 2012.
"Vier Hoch", the highest. Thus it was called by the ancient Cimbri mount which, with its 2336 metres above sea level, represents the culmination of the plateau.
"Zima of Dodese" was the name used by the Imperialists, because at midday the Sun is, when seen from Borgo Valsugana, exactly on the vertical top.
This also explains why the top X and XI, top that are moved further East.
Two peoples, two States and two crosses that give back: one facing the Valsugana and the other turned South, amid a border has always questioned why ... such a coat of green paint, white and red date at North cross followed immediately a similar action, but in yellow and black; on the South!!!
