On Sunday, July 21, 2019,the second meeting of the exhibition "Aperitifwith theAuthor" is scheduled, organized as every summer by the Library Giunti at the Point of Asiago.

The appointment is at the Central Stage located in Piazza II Risorgimento in Asiago, starting at 17.30.

To present her book "TheGirl ofWolves" will be the author Mia Canestrini,who will be interviewed by Daniele Zovi.

The meeting will be the right opportunity to learn more about the work of this writer and to discuss together a very topical theme on the Plateau: the coexistence between men and wolves.

THE GIRL OF THE WOLVES

"Mywolf cut me off one summer afternoon a few miles from home. He jumped into the provincial suddenly, but calm, and crossed it with a slow and safe pace, almost not touching the asphalt. He turned to look at me, we fixed for a moment, time to leave me a message, and as an angel disappeared, tucking into the dense vegetation beyond the gutter. While everything seemed unsurpassed, the work finished, the failure close my heart in a vice, friendships drifting away, while life seemed to collapse on itself, a wolf appeared like a flash of light at the gates of my personal hell. His meaningless appearance, in a strange place, at an equally strange time, gave me great confidence in the future, even though nothing at that time seemed to have a solution. But I believed him, I gritted my teeth. Sometimes guardian angels take on strangeappearances."

She set out on the trail of wolves as a natural sciences student, when as a thesis she had to look for signs of the wolf's presence to study its genetics. He never left them. Today Mia is a "wolfologist", and she is one of the most prepared. Among her activities, she is also busy teaching people to live with the animal of which men have an ancestral fear and an infinite attraction. Mia's personal experience is intertwined with the greatest story of the wolf in Italy, and it is the story of boundless love, of puppies saved and left in the heart, like Achilles, and others lost, a love sometimes requited, sometimes not. And it's also the story of how wolves taught her to follow the path of freedom.
