Encounter in the series "Aperitif with author", in collaboration with the library reached the point

Also Thursday, 9 August 2018, at the central stage of Piazza Risorgimento II of Asiago held an interesting cultural meeting of "Aperitif with author", organised by the Library Giunti Al Punto di Asiago.

The meeting will begin at 17.30 hours and will star the author Matthew Rafati, who will present his book "last homeland".

THE LAST HOME

Is the 1898, a cold November. On the sullen mountains between the plateau of Asiago and val Brenta, in Nevada, the inhabitants are now almost entirely disappeared: most of them, oppressed by an appalling poverty, abandoned places of origin to immigrate to America in search of fortune. Jole accomplished 20 years and grows more and more beautiful as her younger sister Antonia followed the religious vocation and decided to become a nun; the little brother Sergio is prey of strange tremors caused by a mysterious cause and is placed in the care of the "Holy," the healer of a neighboring country. The apparent momentary stillness of the area is turned upside down when they come into action two bandits who intercepted the treasure of bullion earned from smuggling with the Austria-old householder Augustus in Hungary. Jole will be alone to face the disaster: driven by a thirst for revenge and armed only with rifle paterno, will launch with the inseparable Steed Samson on the trail of the assassins to do it justice.

To accompany it will again be the wind and the stars that surround it in breathtaking scenery. During the pursuit, Jole will cross the last breath Woods and snowy and countries will overcome continuing difficulties, without ever losing the determination that distinguishes it, in accordance with the magic of nature and fidelity to its values along a journey that force him to go much further than he had ever imagined. "Because, unlike the border between two States, the border between good and evil almost never manages to catch sight of her eyes." The last country is the second novel in the "Trilogy of the fatherland". After the soul of frontier, Matthew Righetto resumes to narrate with unaltered force the epic of De Boer in a western admirable literary depth and atmosphere, staging the unceasing yearning of mankind toward the ransom.
