TREES SCHOLARS, ANCIENT FORESTS
«If you are in a forest in your listening position, sooner or later you feel, one senses the presence of a stream of energy that circulates through the branches, the leaves, the roots. It is sometimes a whisper, sometimes screams and cries. And as if the plants were talking among themselves. " Indefatigable Walker and sensitive observer of nature, Daniel Zovi, over the years, these sounds has learned to listen to them and interpret them: he crossed the paths that cut through the mountain forests of conifers, he scoured the old Croatian forests and Slovene, climbed up to the peaks of Picos de Europa, in Spain, he contemplated the oldest eucalyptus in the world, the Giant Tingle Tree, in Australia; After the seeds of spruce whirl in the wind before landing on the snow or the secular white poplars contorta foliage as big as squares; he chased the pioneer species, trees settlers who grow territories abandoned; analyzed the barks and roots, leaves and resins ... A forest, tells us, is not just the set of trees that form it, nor the sum of flora and fauna. A forest is the result of actions and reactions, alliances and competition, growth and collapse. A mobile world, that although we continue to strive to study and catalogue, restrict and control, will always be a wild, vibrant space of wonder. Zovi guides the reader in this space, entering increasingly into the thick of the forest in search of the spirit of the forest. A search that page after page, appears more and more as a search of our spirit.
