On Wednesday, August 25, 2021,at the Garden of the Museum Le Carceri di Asiago,there will be an interesting literary meeting with Gigi Abriani for the presentation of his books "Luce nel silenzio. At night life returns to the places that have seen history "and"Paths in the night".
The meeting will start at 5:30 pm.
In case of bad weather the event will be postponed to Thursday 26 August.

PRESENT OF THE AUTHOR OF THE BOOK "LIGHT IN SILENCE"
The pages of this book do not tell the dramas of millions of soldiers and civilians, do not narrate acts of courage and do not describe battles and military strategies. They do not, therefore, form a classic historical book.
But they want to make you imagine, through photographs, what that conflict was also humanly.
In the fortifications, in the tunnels, in the war mule tracks that still mark our territory today, we talked, remembered, stood and expected the following day. In a word, you lived.
As a child I saw many summers follow one another onthe Plateau of the Seven Municipalities,experiencing the daily life of my father and mother, who helped him.
The smell of wood lit to make cheese, the thick smoke, the smelling acres of the hut mingled, making that small world an island that lived of its own life with rhythms and stories from another era.
There were no connections, the contact with the world was the Vespa.
In the evening, lighted by oil lamps, we told the stories of the forts that like giants of concrete and iron dominated the evils below.
Fort Verena, Fort Campolongo, Mount Ortigara,the granatieri of the Cengio: a thousand stories of a war still close in time and in the memory of the people.
The elderly think of the past in color, young people spontaneously think of it in black and white.
All the history books have sepia images, yellowed by time, slightly grainy, full of great charm.
But I wanted to go back to giving birth to those places that are incisible and indelible in our mountains, like scars.
I love shooting at night, everything changes, everything exists, even if you don't see it.
The night is a suspended moment compared to the day.
Light is life, so I involved friends for what wanted to be an experience to live together in the magic and silence of the night,in an attempt to pay worthy tribute to those who, in those fortifications and trenches, lived.
To those who, like the elderly, think with the colors of the past.
You feel the sacredness in the silence of the night, you speak softly, you feel intruder.
Words of love, hope and fear still live in the air.
I didn't think I'd make a book, but the material collected was increasing, in a crescendo of emotions, sensations and experiences.
Going there, with friends helping and supporting me, had become, for me and for them, a need: it was the book that asked to be made, took our hand ...
