Hike RIVA DEL GARDA: Galeas for Montes-The epic enterprise of the Republic of Venice on Lake Garda, Out Door with Plateau

If we were in the United States probably would have made a film and a tv series.
From us instead this extraordinary history is unknown to most people.
On 10 April 1440 the Venetian fleet commanded by Stefano Contarini defeated off Ponale ships of the Duchy of Milan, by extending the domino of the lion of St. mark on the entire Lake.
This was possible thanks to the engineering of the Serenissima that the year before had allowed 33 boats to go up against the current l'adige, then drag on huge rollers designed for the purpose, cross for 20 km by land on m. te Baldo, until being declined from Nago to Torbole, Lake Garda port.
The first Venetian fleet sul Garda was not successful, but thanks to the bold link Setup, it was possible to reconstruct the craft and destroy the Visconti fleet. The clash furious between the Ponale and Riva: "they shouted, they Squeak, creak of wood, de the shrouds and of the people, all that is heard, what horror, danger and death stood represented".
For 3 hours the battle raged, eventually the only tense in the wind was the banner of St Mark.
Historical hike/nature trail that will wind through most of the easy route along the northern shore of Lake Garda, between Torbole and Riva. Return to the ferry.
