"Romanticism and beyond"-concert by the pianist Thomas Schwan-music by Schumann, Debussy, Chopin, Ravel, Rachmaninov

A concert truly not to be missed is the one organized from Monday July 25 Artemusica culture, at 21.00, sala Santa Giustina di Roana.
Pianist Thomas Schwan, boasting an international career, will be the star of the evening, featuring music by Schumann, Debussy, Chopin, Ravel, Rachmaninov.

The pianist will present some of the greatest masterpieces of piano literature in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. Starting from the Three Romances op. 28 by Schumann, dedicated in private to his beloved wife Clara and certainly among the most elegiac creations of German composer, you will go directly to Debussy's Reflets dans l'eau , gentle and dreamy Impressionist painting, and in Ravel's La Valse , grandiose evocation of the late viennese waltz and a Europe now waned with the first world war. The second part of the concert approached the enigmatic Chopin's Polonaise-fantasy and philosophy to some pieces by Rachmaninov, including the famous Prelude op. 3 No. 2, the tragic Étude-Tableau op. 39 no. 5 and the joyous Prelude op. 32 # 13, the latter among the most monumental and challenging solo works of the great Russian writer.

Thomas Schwan has given concerts from soloist and chamber musician in Italy, United States, England, Russia and Holland. Graduated in piano with highest honors from the Conservatory of Vicenza, gets accolades such as the Diploma of honor and Monte dei Paschi di Siena Chigiana Academy, as well as numerous prizes at international competitions. In 2007 he won the scholarship offer from Southern Methodist University Meadows Artistic Scholarship (Dallas, USA) to study with pianist Joaquín Achúcarro. At the same University, earned a Master's degree in composition in the class of Kevin Hanlon. His songs were performed by renowned performers and ensembles such as Voices of Change, Meadows Wind Ensemble, Quartet Mitja, Trio Chénier, and violinists Matt Albert (eighth blackbird) and Joseph Puglia (Asko | Schoenberg Ensemble Amsterdam). Is often appeared as a performer and Director of his own music. He is currently a doctoral candidate in piano performance and Teaching Fellow at University of North Texas in the class of Pamela Mia Paul. (2016)
