The show is inspired by the story of Vera Brittain, a volunteer of the Red Cross on the front French, sister of Edward Brittain captain of the 11th battalion of the Sherwood Foresters, enlisted as a volunteer in 1915 and fell in battle in the forests of Asiago on June 15, 1918 and whose
