Ciaspolata or guided excursion "Southern Front": The English sector - with the "Highland Guides" - Mountain Professionals

CANCELLED EVENT FOR CORONAVIRUS!! WE ALSO TRY TO DO OUR PART AND NOT TO SPREAD THE VIRUS!!

This route is ideal for those who want to know a little-known aspect of the Great War, the Intervention of the Allies to defend the southern edge of the Plateau, ideal barrier that contained the imperial army on the chain of mountains placed at the bulwark of the plain Veneta.

In November 1917,to parry the consequences of Caporetto, the British expeditionary corps B.E.F.(British Expeditionary Force Italy)arrived in Italy, to be joined by machine guns, mortars, genius and logistics. The British introduce new tactics: they precede the offensives with a night war of patrols.

This was to avoid the static of the trench: it tended to translate for men in a state of passivity. There are many stories related to these departments: some speak of sports matches to dampen the tension of wartime, others of battles won thanks to rum dropped in enemy hands. The last assault took place on 29 October 1918 towards the station of vezzena, so on the evening of 2 November the British bivouac at the Osteria del Termine, former border with the Austrugan Empire.

READING THE DEGREE OF DIFFICULTY

FACILE: The route takes place on forest roads, dirt roads or easy mulees always well indicated and without orientation problems in cases of fog or bad weather. The elevations are contained within 250-300 meters and the length of the route is within three hours. These are a bit long walks that require a boot that is at least up to the ankle, no smooth sole. In winter only boots, no moon boot.

FACILE/MEDIO: The route takes place on forest roads, dirt roads or easy mulees always well indicated. The elevations are contained within 250-300 meters and the length of the route is within 3 - 5 ORE. These are a bit of long walks that require a hiking sports shoe (SE IN ESTATE ONLY), or the boot. In winter only boots, no moon boot.

AVERAGE: The route definitely exceeds three hours, it is more complex, it takes place on a trail with some challenging climbs or descent but can be overcome without the support of mountaineering equipment. The terrain can be disconnected or lack of signals. The maximum difference in altitude, however, remains within the 300 meters. The Boot required. In winter only boots, no moon boot.

MEDIO/IMPEGNATIVE: The route definitely exceeds three hours, it is complex for the difference in altitude that can reach 500 meters or for the length of the walk up to 6 hours, it takes place on a trail with some challenging climbs or descents but can be overcome without the support of mountaineering equipment. The terrain can be disconnected or lack of signals. The Boot required. In winter only boots, no moon boot.

IMPEGNATIVO: These itineraries require a lot of experience, training and physical strength from those who travel them. it is necessary to know how to move expertly even in dangerous terrain: gravels, steep slopes or steep stretches, thick scrub, high and unreferenced, passages in rock, absence of springs. The difficulty of the terrain and the distance from the points of support require total autonomy. Where indicated there may be a need to bring to the tow bivouac material such as the tent, bivouac bag, stove, food, requires training, energy and strong motivation. The Boot required. In winter only boots, no moon boot.
