ANIMALS HAVE RIGHTS
In "L'éthique animal", Jean-Baptiste Jeangène Vilmer wondered: "Do animals have rights? Do we have duties to them? If so, which ones? If not, why?" In this book, magistrate Davide Montini Trotti answers these questions, and he has long campaigned for the recognition of animal rights and their consideration as sentient beings deserving of respect and protection. In his acute and thoughtful reflections, Davide Montini Trotti argues that, since animals cannot exercise their rights directly, it is man who cannot escape the duty to observe and enforce standards of behaviour, which are based on protection and respect for animals, to be intrudeed into every order. Spaced from the law to other disciplines, "Animals have rights" is therefore part of the analysis of Regan and Singer and constitutes an indispensable instrument of study that provides a thorough and rigorous exonemof of internal norms, Eu and international animal rights.
