The play "returning from the front" in Gallium-4 January 2019

Friday 4 January 2019, at 21:00 hours, gallium Auditorium will host the Troupe "Watermark", which will stage the play "RETURNING FROM the FRONT."

RETURNING FROM THE FRONT

The play "returning from the front," enter, with delicacy and emotion, in the everyday life of a historical moment difficult for Italian families: that of the great war.

It is set in two different realities, a trench and a contrada veneta, so distant and yet so close in our thoughts, worries, fears and hoping to embrace their loved ones ... a life that runs parallel, but under the same sky, "a sky that smells of gunpowder ".

The first part of the show takes place in the trenches, in a moment of calm from the gunfire and fighting, allowing six soldiers to communicate real-life personal reflections documenting the opposite, full of difficulties, but supported by memories and the hope.

Some games for children and an old master leads the audience in the agricultural world of the early twentieth century, Venetian loads of simplicity and values.  The protagonists are mostly women (girls, mothers and wives) who have the difficult task of "delivering on the shack" with great trepidation, waiting for news from the front and especially the return of their men.

The tension of the difficulties of daily life is mitigated by Justin (el mato in the country) which has not been drafted but that the war would be gunning for pretend to anyone he meets, as don Piero that strives to revive hope and faith in God or the Mailman finally arrives with the long-awaited yellow cards.

The torment of Mary, for the death of his son, a boy of ' 99, charge Checo indulged in a genuine emotion that leads to an intimate and respectful silence, while the sky rises the wonderful song of the unknown Alpine.

The bollettino della vittoria shakes the audience from drama, bringing great joy for the soldiers returning from the front, which is crowned by the old master monologue that closes the show remembering what the great war brought with it not forget, for "not to repeat the same mistakes, which share the values of freedom and love of country, with feelings of hatred and oppression."

The show is accompanied by the songs of the choir "friends" of Trissino, conducted by maestro Gianni Pandey and background music, played by the guitar teacher Silvano Casper of Crodaioli.

The scenes are enhanced by the projection of videos and photographs.

During the show, some letters will be read as authentic soldiers and family members, granted by the armed forces Museum of Montecchio Maggiore, with advice from the expert historian prof. Stefano Guderzo.
