Passage of the traditional "transhumance" in the historical centre of Asiago, September 23, 2016
ATTENTION! THE #TRANSUMANZA OF #ASIAGO IT'S BEEN CANCELED!
For precautionary reasons, in fact, seen cases of "bluetongue virus" found in other territories, Friday, 23 September, Highland cows, which all enjoy good health, will be carried in their shelters on the plain by authorised persons.
It is a decision taken to protect livestock from possible contagion. For those who do not know remember that Bluetongue does not affect humans and is not transmissible through meat and milk.
On Sunday 25 September the herd will come however in Bressanvido , passing through the village streets.
Make way, here come the cows!
Friday, September 23, 2016 will take place the traditional passage of herding cows to Asiago.
It is a folk tradition very much felt that accompanies more than 450 cows, driven by a hundred people to horse, along the return journey from the mountain pastures.
The herds will pass through the historic centre of Asiago, around 17.00hours.
At approximately 15.00, cows will make a brief stop at locality Rached and are then shipped to 16.30 towards the Center to arrive in the main square of the old town, Piazza Risorgimento II and follow the Avenue Station; Here is a quick stop, in front of the mountain community Dear of the seven municipalities, for the delivery of the strand, the Bell symbol of transhumance.
Here the municipality of Asiago will reward the cow that produced more milk with a lock hand decorated.
