Passage of the traditional "transhumance" in the historical centre of Asiago, 22 September 2017

Make way, here come the cows!

Friday 22 September 2017 will take place the traditional passage of herding cows to Asiago, one of the most heartfelt folk traditions in the plateau.

Every year, the transhumance accompanied more than 450 cows, driven by a hundred people to horse, along the return journey from the mountain pastures.

The herds will pass through the historic centre of Asiago, around 17.00hours.

At approximately 15.00, cows will make a brief stop at locality Rached and are then shipped at 17.00 to the Center to arrive in the main square of the old town, Piazza II Risorgimento and then proceed to the Viale Stazione; Here is a quick stop, in front of the mountain community Dear of the seven municipalities, for the delivery of the strand, the Bell symbol of transhumance.

Here the municipality of Asiago will reward the cow that produced more milk with a strand decorated by hand by the artist Clare Campbell Muller.

FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 22

• hours 15.00 The Park herd at Resort Hotels.
• hours 17.00 Departure runway towards the Centre of Asiago.
• 17.30 hours Step to Viale Matteotti, Via Marconi, Piazza Carli, Viale Trento e Trieste and Via Garibaldi. At delivery of traditional Bell Station Square. The transhumance will continue for "STARLING" for overnight.

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 23

• 8.00 a.m. departure to Vicenza, arrival scheduled at 16.30 on Sunday 24 September with transhumance Festival.
