Naturalistic excursion with Filippo Menegatti - "Valley of the Mills, the mill and the water"
A short walk from the centre of Gallio is the starting point of this beautiful route, which will take us to one of the most characteristic and evocative locations of the Plateau.
The Valley of the Mills (Val della Covola) is in fact one of the few valleys of the Plateau in which the water permanently flows on a surface level.
During this easy excursion, we will have the opportunity to visit the ancient sites where you "worked" the peels to produce the substances suitable for the tanning of the skins, ancient flour mills. This site during the Great War, was transformed for war needs, even today is visible a hydroelectric power plant built by the Italian Command in 1917.The whole itinerary is placed in an exceptional natural context, completely different from the rest of much of the highland territory.

REQUIRED CLOTHING:
Mask. Igienizing gel, mountain scarps or hiking shoes, long pants or with high sock, piles, k-way. Backpack with enough water and snacks/fruit.
RECOMMENDED ACCESSORIES:
Cap, sunglasses, hiking sticks.
Possibly a total change of clothing always in the car.

We "Highland Guides" are the first group of professional guides of the Plateau. We are local guides operating on the territory of the Plateau of the Seven Municipalities since 2008. The membership of the place by the members of the group ensures an intimate knowledge of the proposed goals and a deeply respectful approach to the environment and its history. Our passions for nature, history and sport have led us to choose a life path based on the study of the environment and local history. Graduates in scientific, tourist and sports subjects such as Forestry and Environmental Sciences, Natural Sciences and Motor Sciences we have also specialized in the historical field with courses recognized by the Province of Vicenza. In order to be able to practice professionally, we are regularly enrolled in the professional registers of Environmental Naturalistic Guide (L.R. 33 of 2002 of Veneto), or Of Accompanying media Montagna (L.R. 23 July 2013, n.18).
