DESCRIPTION OF THE ITINERARY FOR THE VERENA MALGHE TOUR

The walking route starts from the farmhouse of Campovecchio. Crossing the road you take an old mule track located initially along the edge of the pasture and then inside the spruce forest, ideal habitat of the grouse. After about a couple of kilometers you will arrive at the Cross of the Civello and from here always proceeding straight, you will arrive at a junction of 1739m where the route will continue taking the right road to the Malga Verena.

Percorso verso malga Verena

The flowers and mushrooms certainly do not fail. So, along the way, you can meet the good pig that living in symbiosis with spruce gets beautiful between its roots. There is no shortage of other plants such as larch that gradually rises in altitude is abundant.
The flowers, of woodland margin, help to give color to the trail. Species of various types such as gentians, hairy rhododendron and heather are found abandoned throughout the area.

Asini nel sentiero che porta alla malga VerenaAfter about a kilometer, you know, you will meet the first pets, donkeys and horses and this makes it clear that the farm is now close.
Arriving at Malga Verena you pass the casara not after observing the wonderful landscape on the central conca of the Asiago Plateau. We proceed to another farmhouse, Malga Quarti.

The pasture is the typical high-altitude pasture. The farm has the stallion for the shelter of the animals, the pigslaia and the farmhouse where the farm has its summer abode on one side and where on the other it could proceed with the processing of cheese.  The vegetation is also different; The presence of mugo pine on the pasture is always abundant, but the larch begins to be scarce in favor of the white fir.  From here on the path returns to the inside of the forest until it comes to another fork. You have to hold the right and follow to Casara Gruppach. The place is very interesting and beautiful from a naturalistic point of view. I hold the Casara on the right you pass and along the forest road you always proceed straight until you return to the cross of the Civello. From this moment the route will be the same as the first leg and will return to the Malga di Campovecchio.
