From the Centre of Asiago, walk south on main street and arrive at the crossroads that leads off to the right towards Vicenza; Here, continue straight on towards Bassano/hospital, leaving the left the Museo delle Carceri (clearly visible in white stone); you follow the same indications (Bassano/hospital) to the Church of St. Carlo, considering this as the actual starting point: here take the road on the right, which brings in Contrada Ave.

ROUTE DESCRIPTION OF THE DISTRICTS SOUTH OF ASIAGO

Via Don Viero, meet a few old and new houses and, on the right, the bed of the stream Ghelpack (stream: pack from Ghel: Gallium), on the left the Bellocchio, Hill area where have arisen during the Fascist era the first ski lifts and the first springboard, both decommissioned. (This area has had effective start on winter tourism in Plateau).

It's right along the small district along its entire length that happen to be literally surrounded by greenery, a green that goes up to the line of demarcation between Earth and heaven: the ups and downs in the left background, on the right, Melette the Tamma, Pasubio, and, in the distance, the Brenta Group. The easy allows you to enjoy the sweet image of the territory, who knows how to instill a great sense of peace. At the height of the contrada, directly onto the dirt road that parallels the building (a former poultry farm), now destined for residential use. The trail dips slightly and enters the Middle pastures bringing easily at the first crossroads: right to the Lazzaretto, left towards Cesuna (Pholus: formerly existed in the district, a trickle that did turn a textile mill carpet beater).Left left in the old pylons bent pipe of lighting for night skiing, you begin the short climb which leads to "Hail" as ancient custom define the contrada. The town's name derives, as you might think, from the Latin abes (api, though present), or aves (birds), but from cimbro aba-laben: both pools of water, pastures (Rizzolo, Toponymy).

The direction is to the right, towards the Lazzaretto. To achieve this, the trail climbs slightly amid a lush forest of fir trees from the dense undergrowth on the left, a red stone wall of Asiago (remainder of an ancient quarry, historical activity in the area).

The ammonite very fine Red-Sea sedimentary remnant of tropical sea called Tethys Sea-is still sent in Valpolicella, where it draws more ... and changing name: Red Verona marble!), which reports on a table of Rigoni Stern sentence comes from "people, forests and api".

Chiesetta

In short, here's the lawn of Lazzaretto. The image of the cross and the Church (1655) jaw-dropping and the sweetness of the place leaves no slightest guess the tragedy of the past, when the plague of ' 600, when hundreds of victims, that right there were transported to avoid infection, to meet death. The Lazzaretto is traditional main stage Rogation (rogare = pray), which takes place in may, which vote for the epidemic ceased. It's a rite of Thanksgiving and effort around the municipality of Asiago (over 30 Km!), which is renewed by 400 years, what moment of recollection but also of joy and shared by all asiaghesi, even immigrants, falling on purpose even from Australia to participate. It's a mix of Catholicism and paganism, see the gift of painted eggs, Celtic heritage and a symbol of fertility.

Left a flower on the gate of the chapel in the Woods along the path leading slightly downhill that easily leads to underpass the highway to Bassano. Abandoned main track takes down the lane on the right, where a brief alert leads to the square and the Prunno hut, "resting place" chosen. The name "prunno" comes from the Cimbri (prun) then the native German speaker (brunn) and means spring/fontana. And an ancient source was really there and was recently recovered from the cabin Manager, Manohar Lal, intrigued by purely aquatic vegetation of the area. (This commentary was honored by the Gruppo Speleologico 7 municipalities).

There sorgentina, just after the clearing on the right, well protected by stoan platten (the ancient stone fences/stoan-stone in English) which abound everywhere, forget flanking the continuation of the route. This is an image that moves and makes us understand how it was made of small things, small in size, the life of the ancestors; rhythms and simple gestures, poor things, overwhelmed by the watershed event of the ' 15 '/18: the war that everything has changed, everything changed, erasing in one fell swoop, a centuries-old history and tagging territory. inexorably

Itinerario Contrade a Sud di Asiago

The trail leads quickly into Contrà Clama (Klama: bottleneck of the Valley; another name Cimbri), alongside the fence of the breeding of wild animals-deer, deer-and cross right il capitello (1893), dedicated to St. Peter, who calls this stretch of path: 4 farm houses, stables, cattle, orchards. By this we lived once in all suburbs, in all districts and the economy was purely silvo-pastoral. Crossed the bridge to access Contrà Clama continue along the gut flooded grassy vegetation. Some bench allows a stop before reaching the goal: the Church of s. m. Maddalena, situated between the road to Gallium and "the Pennar", the Astrophysical Observatory and the State road to Bassano. Also there is necessary a break to meditate or pray or just read the signs of the past and understand the present.

The city centre is at your fingertips, a stretch of sidewalk shows in 10 min. opposite the Museum of prisons and at the starting point, closing one of the few worthy ring routes in the area.
