HOW TO GET TO THE STARTING POINT

The starting point is the Asiago Ice Stadium,a strategic place to get by car and park without any problems. Starting from the parking lot you pass behind the old railway station of Asiago and you start to walk the road of the train flanking theRV area at the entrance of the country.

ROUTE DESCRIPTION

The road initially develops on a sort of embankment, passes through the Consortium of Dairy and then continues in the direction of Canove. Along this part of the route alternate stretches in the trenches and open stretches from which you can admire the Plateau and many of its population centers.

During the summer season the greenery of the meadows is predominant while in the autumn period the green mixes with the colors of autumn forming a very evocative landscape. The route to Mountain Bike (MTB) continues until you reach Canove,a hamlet of the Municipality of Roana, where, for those who want to make a stop, you can visit along the way the museum of the Great War.

From Canove the road continues downhill and it is recommended to be careful whencrossing the roads leading to residential areas as they are open to motorised traffic. After the descent, the road begins to climb gently into the woods. As soon as the climb begins, be careful on the left of a small road that connects to a road that goes up to the Boscon hut via the English military cemetery. More than 5000 documents and exhibits are kept inside the museum, testifying to how, in these places, those distant years have been lived.
Outside the museum you can see a specimen quite similar to the "Vaca Mora" or the rack train that, until 1955, traveled the route from the plain to Asiago.

The Boscon is one of the 5 English cemeteries of the Plateau along with those of Magnaboschi, Cavalletto, Granezza and Barenthal. These English cemeteries compared to others are united by the fact that instead of crosses or columns to mark the burial place, they have white marble tombstones arranged neatly on a green lawn with very manicured grass.
In the Boscon cemetery lie 146 British servicemen who died during the First World War.

Continuing the route you reach the intersection at the Boscon hut where 5 roadsintersect. Here you can get off the Mountain Bike (MTB) and make a stop or find shelter in the cabin in case of bad weather.
At the intersection you take the second road to the right which leads uphill towards the scalin of Mount Lèmerle.
After about 1.7km you cross the road that climbs from the Magnaboschi Valley, you hold the left and you continue to pedal uphill paying attention to the bottom at times bumpy. The ascent ends after about 2Km when, crossed a neckline, you reach the border between the municipality of Roana and Caltrano signaled by a wall. This area is called The Favaro Pool.

The view opens and from the woods we move to the meadows that in the summer become a grazing area in the service of the huts of the area. Continuing to the right, the road becomes flat and paved.
Note:For those who want to go to eat or have a drink, turning left at the neckline, you can make a stop at the Alpine Bar Refuge which is 400m from the crossroads. This too can be a good place to shelter in case of suddenbad weather.

Giro delle Malghe - Discesa in Località Poslen

Descent into Poslen Locations

Back on the route of theMTB route, continue flat through the meadows and pastures of Malga Carriola and Carrioletta leaving out the side streets that meet until you reach Bocchetta Paù. From the mouth you can enjoy a first taste of the panorama towards the plain with the Summano and Novegno mountains in front of us.
After the small digression in the mouth Paù takes back the asphalt uphill and after about 1.5 km with some pronounced tears you arrive at the beginning of the most scenic section of the route i.e. the road that crosses the huts overlooking the plain. On the darkest days, from this location, you can see both the sea and the Apennines.

During this itinerary, along about 8km,you pass near some huts among which, in order, Malga Sunio, Malga Foraoro, Malga Serona, Malaga Funds, Malaga Mazze, until you arrive in the area of Mount Horn with its namesake refuge. On Mount Horn stands a monument in honor of the fallen. Inwinter the area is home to a resort of slopes dedicated to Nordic skiing. At this point, start the asphalt descent to Asiago via the Sanctuary Granezza. Here we find on the right the English cemetery of the Tretle.

Giro delle Malghe - Monte Corno

Mount Horn

Past the hut the road returns dirt. In this stretch it is recommended to moderate the speed of the Mountain Bike (MTB)because you risk encountering cars or pedestrians that can create dangerous situations. You then continue   the descent through the Pria hut from the water.

After the hut on the right we find the third and final English cemetery of the itinerary, that of the Barenthal with its English style. After 1 km from the cemetery is held the left for a slight tear uphill towards the church of St. Sisto. Be careful, 200 meters. after the church of S. Sisto,to keep the left leaving out two sides and then turn right entering a fairly bumpy stretch in the middle of the woods.

At the end of this stretch you turn right and descend to the right on a road that crosses heading towards Poslen resorts. From here the dirt ends and taken the asphalt you reach Asiago along the road that passes in front of the Pennar-San Rocco Dairy.
