Baita Chalet Valmaron

The Baita Valmaron, located a few steps from downhill slopes Enego 2000offers refreshment in both winter and summer athletes and tourists visiting in Val Maron and the nearby plain of Marcesina, town dubbed the "Finland of Italy" for its enchanting landscapes and its record-setting temperatures.

The kitchen

The cottage is open during the winter and in the summer, winning the palates of guests with tasty dishes, prepared with local and seasonal produce.

During the season, for example, the Baita Maron is easy to find dishes prepared with herbs freshly picked in pastures and forests ofAsiago Plateau, like the delicious pies with hop sprouts, with the farinelle or with the schioppettini.
When it's time and in the forests of the plateau starts the mushroom season, the kitchen of the Baita Maron it smells of the intense flavor of traditional dishes like noodles with mixed berries or delicate mushroom soup.
In cold weather, to try definitely the minestrone with beans, prepared with a very old recipe and, in the opinion of our customers, like no other.

In rustic establishments of Baita Maron, guests can unwind after a day spent skiing, or regain strength after a nice hikeand enjoy unique desserts of Lella: from tiramisù light and pleasant, made exclusively with ricotta cheese, panna cotta with cream of malga, through delicious apple strudel and chocolate salami, the snack at Baita Maron has an entirely different taste the taste of the plateau!

Even the meats and cheeses here have a special flavor: come from the Alpine pastures of the surrounding area, that produce them with meat from animals raised on site and the milk of the cows let graze freely on the green fields of the plateau.

The managers

The attention to the quality of the products and the care in preparing healthy and genuine dishes are ensured by Lella,who runs the kitchen.
Lella was a cooking teacher at the Asiago Hotel School, worked for several years at Albarella Island and at the Hospital of Marostica and Bassano with various duties. She then wanted to obtain a bachelor's degree in dietitian in order to have a wealth of knowledge that would allow her to offer her customers a healthy and light cuisine.

The management of the Baita and thereception of customers is instead the task of the friendly Marino,who has had the opportunity to acquire knowledge in the tourism sector working for about 15 years at Valtur Vacanze,with various assignments both in Italy and abroad, as a skier, sailor and head-bar.
The great experience and its open and very helpful character put guests at ease: they come in as customers and in most cases leave as friends.

For about seven years, Marino has been cooking grilled meats. He also attended courses to improve the quality of his dishes, costineranging from mixed grills with ribs, sausages and skewers,to cockerels prepared in a traditional way or laced with honey, passing through delicious cuts,succulent ribs and Florentine.
The meat is always carefully chosen by the trusted butcher, who provides meat from local and guaranteed farms.

Hiking and mountain biking

But the Baita Maron is not only cooking, is also nature, history and sport.

From the Chalet you can find routes of varying difficulty for people who want to immerse themselves in nature and history of the plateau with hikes and walks really interesting from the naturalistic point of view, and from the town.
From the Cabin, for example, you can reach the Strong Lisser, recently reopened after a long restoration.

Finally, for lovers of mountain bikerides, you can also find mountain biking, to reach and explore the beautiful places of the nearby plain of Marcesina.
