GRASS SKIING
The grass skiing is a sport born in Germany around 1960 and introduced in Italy starting in 1970, through South Tyrol.
It is a sport of power and dexterity, which replaces the concept of typical sliding downhill skiing with to conduct roll, obtained through the particular shape of the ski, which structurally can be compared to a crawler shoe or microcingolo.
In a nutshell, as in alpine skiing, the athletes compete on a downhill, descending on skis "crawlers" that, instead of sliding on the snow, run on the grass.
The grass skiing is practiced at a competitive level in 18 countries in Europe and other parts of the world, with an International racing circuit, a World Cup, a World Championship junior (annual), and an absolute (biennial).
