Project "The forts of the Great War between Veneto and Trentino by motorcycle"

This interesting video, made in the context of the project "The forts of the Great War between Veneto and Trentino by motorcycle", describes the itinerary to get to Forte Corbin by motorcycle.

The route winds through evocative mountain landscapes up to the Fort of Punta Corbin, a fortress of the First World War that can be visited completely inside and outside, with a small museum attached.

THE PROJECT

"The forts of the Great War between Veneto and Trentino by motorcycle" is the project carried out by the journalist Marco Billo to enhance and promote the historical and naturalistic heritage of the highlands of the Seven Municipalities, Folgaria, Lavarone and Luserna in the wake of the recent celebrations in memory of the First World War.

Over the last year, ten videos have been made that describe, between asphalt and dirt paths, the evocative itineraries between Veneto and Trentino to reach ten Italian and Austro-Hungarian fortresses, protagonists during the conflict.
Roads to be covered in the saddle, therefore open to vehicular traffic, towards the chosen forts as they can be reached directly by motorbike or, after having parked it, through paths a few kilometers long and therefore easy to travel for those who wear motorcycle clothing.

The destinations in Veneto, in the province of Vicenza, are Forte Campomolon in Arsiero, Forte Corbin in Tresché Conca, Forte Interrotto in Asiago, Forte Lisser in Enego and Forte Verena in Roana. The fortresses in the province of Trento, on the other hand, are Forte Belvedere in Lavarone, Forte Cherle and Forte Sommo Alto in Folgaria, Forte Verle near Passo Vezzena and Forte Campo Luserna in Luserna.

The videos, published on Youtube, tell the ways to reach the forts, which can also be identified thanks to the links to Google Maps that are found in the descriptions, in addition to the history and characteristic aspects of the structures.

The Order of Journalists of Veneto has awarded this project the twelfth edition of the scholarship for young journalists in memory of Massimiliano Goattin.

The videos were made by Marco Billo with the collaboration of Federico Leder, Matteo Caron, Andrea Sanson, Nicola Traversa, Fabio Billo and Matteo Panozzo.

Texts by Marco Billo and Silva Cantele. Historical insights curated by Daniele Fioravanzo.

Narrator of Silva Cantele, recorded by Filippo Zampese.
