Suggestive and exciting shots to discover the beauties of Enego
This video takes us to the discovery of Enego, the easternmost municipality of theAsiago Plateau, through evocative footage and historical notes related to the most interesting sights of this mountain center suspended between earth and sky, surrounded by majestic fir forests.
Enego's visit starts at the Scaligera Tower in St. Mark's Square, right in the heart of the country. It was the tallest tower, the rampart, of a much larger fortress built around 1330 by the Scaligeri, then destroyed by a South Tyrolean barbarian population.
The video then takes us to the Cathedral of Santa Giustina with the precious Pala di Santa Giustina by Jacopo Da Ponte (1560 circa), oil on canvas depicting St. Justin on the throne and saints Sebastiano, Antonio Abbot and Rocco.
Filming then moves to Fort Lisser, the so-called Lion of the Plateau, and to the Coldarco Fort, both fortifications dating back to the Great Warperiod.
The virtual journey to Enego ends, finally, at the Bastia or Castel dei Meci, called the "Stonehenge of Enego", which was part of a very large and very old defensive system.
