The Plateau of the Seven Municipalities, better known as the "Asiago Plateau", is a vast and fascinating territory that welcomes visitors in every season of the year. In winter, it attracts snow sports enthusiasts thanks to its downhill slopes and more than 500 kilometers of trails dedicated to cross-country skiing, as well as offering the possibility of snowshoeing and hiking through snow-covered forests. With the arrival of spring and during the summer, the Plateau becomes the kingdom of walks, mountain bike and e-bike excursions and outdoor activities, while autumn offers evocative landscapes and events linked to local flavors and traditions.
In addition to sport and nature, the Plateau is animated by a full calendar of cultural, folkloristic and gastronomic events , without forgetting the most precious aspect: the opportunity to immerse yourself and relax in an environment that is still authentic, where silence and pure air allow a true contact with nature.
The geographical position makes the territory of the 7 Municipalities not only an ideal destination for mountain holidays, but also a strategic starting point for day trips to some of the most famous cities of art in Northern Italy.
Venice, about 124 km away, is the lagoon city par excellence, a mosaic of history and art that ranges from the majestic Piazza San Marco with the Doge's Palace to the most hidden squares and islands of the lagoon, such as Murano and Burano, famous for their artisan traditions. A gondola ride along the canals that reflect centuries-old palaces remains one of the most evocative ways to discover the romantic soul of the city.
Verona, 125 km away, fascinates with the Roman Arena, still the scene of internationally renowned opera performances, and with its squares - Piazza delle Erbe and Piazza dei Signori - surrounded by medieval and Renaissance palaces. Also not to be missed is a visit to Juliet's House, with the famous balcony that attracts visitors from all over the world every year, a symbol of a city capable of intertwining myth, history and architectural beauty.
55 km from Asiago you can reach Vicenza, the city of Palladio. Here the legacy of the great Renaissance architect is everywhere: from the majestic Palladian Basilica overlooking Piazza dei Signori, to the Olympic Theater, the first covered permanent theater in modern history, with its wooden scenography that still amazes today for its ingenuity and beauty. Walking along Corso Palladio you will come across stately palaces, loggias and churches that tell the golden age of the city, while just outside the center there are the splendid Palladian villas, immersed in the Venetian countryside.
Just 33 km from the plateau is Bassano del Grappa, a city famous for the Ponte degli Alpini, the work of Palladio. Walking through its lively squares, frescoed palaces and museums dedicated to local history means discovering a village that combines art, artisan traditions and memory of the twentieth century. Not to be missed is the tasting of grappa, a distillate that finds its most authentic roots here. Not far away is Marostica, known throughout the world for the evocative Piazza degli Scacchi, the scene of the famous game of living characters that evokes an ancient chivalric legend. The city is embraced by medieval walls that go back to the Upper Castle.
From the Asiago Plateau you can also reach Asolo, defined by Giosuè Carducci as "the city of a hundred horizons". An elegant and poetic village, loved by artists, writers and travelers, it welcomes visitors with its cobbled streets, medieval castle and views that open the gaze to the surrounding rolling hills.
About an hour and a half by road from the Plateau is Treviso, an elegant city whose historic center, enclosed by sixteenth-century walls, houses suggestive squares such as Piazza dei Signori, the heart of city life, arcaded streets animated by cafes and shops, frescoed houses and bridges over the canals that offer romantic and unexpected corners.
Moving north, 62 km from Asiago, you reach Trento, a city that brings with it the heritage of different cultures: Roman, medieval, Renaissance and Habsburg. Its symbol is the Buonconsiglio Castle, but Piazza Duomo is also striking, with the Cathedral of San Vigilio and the fountain of Neptune, the beating heart of city life. Trento is also an important cultural and scientific center, with internationally renowned museums such as the MUSE - Science Museum designed by Renzo Piano, which confirm its role as a dynamic city open to the future.
