On Wednesday 30 July 2025, at 21:00, the Palazzetto di Canove will host the theatrical show "1946 – Baruffe da cortei", staged by the lively Veronese company El Gavetin.

Set in the difficult post-war period in Italy, the comedy takes place in a small country town in 1946, a crucial year in the history of our country. The institutional referendum is just around the corner, and for the first time women are called to vote.
Between enthusiasm and resistance, the community is divided: on the one hand, the mayor, a former partisan and progressive; on the other the parish priest, determined to bring the population back to the shadow of the bell tower, a symbol of tradition but reduced to rubble. In the middle, a group of suffragettes determined to assert themselves.

Between twists and turns, misunderstandings, sharp jokes and hilarious situations, the comedy entertains and makes you think, emphasizing the importance of peace and civic participation, themes that are still extremely relevant today.

The performance is signed by the El Gavetin company, founded in 1982 in Negrar (VR), known for its brilliant theater in Venetian dialect and for its ability to involve the public with original texts, written and directed by Franco Antolini. 
The group combines passion and comedy, bringing to the stage lively characters, well-kept sets and a genuine, never banal comedy.
