
From Monday 21 to Sunday 27 August 2023 the historic center of Asiago will host the highly anticipated 41st edition of the International Competition of Woodcarvings, a beautiful event, which takes place in the streets and squares of the city, dedicated to the art of wood carving and which for many years has fascinated the plateaus and tourists from all over Italy and abroad.
The competition will be attended by 14 artists, Italian and foreign, who will create their works starting from a wooden trunk or a panel, under the watchful eyes of passers-by, who will be able to admire the sculptures gradually take shape in the main streets and squares of the town and the historic center.
Visitors will be able to witness live the skilful art of sculptors and spend pleasant days immersed in the atmosphere imbued with creativity of the center of Asiago.
On the morning of Sunday 27 August the works will be gathered at the gardens of Piazza Carli and the awards ceremony will be held at 16.00 on the same day (in order to be admitted to the final exhibition, the sculptures must necessarily be completed by the evening of Saturday 26 August).
Also this year there will be the prize of the popular jury named after Joe Dalle Ave, which will be delivered to the artist most voted by citizens and tourists (by means of cards to be delivered to the Tourist Information Desk in Piazza Carli by 12:00 on August 27th) and will receive the prize of € 500.
For this edition there will also be a Press Award in collaboration with the newspaper L'Altopiano.
There will also be the children's jury: all children aged 3 to 14 years (eighth grade) will be able to express their vote with a card to be delivered to the Tourist Information Desk in Piazza Carli by 12:00 on August 27th).
