Sunday 24 September 2023 from 9.30 am to 3.30 pm
Destination: Piana di Marcesina
During this excursion we enter the Piana di Marcesina. It is a unique landscape where among the lush pastures meet the peat bogs, that of San Lorenzo and the Palù di Sotto, environments now very rare in the Alps whose naturalistic values deserve to be enhanced.
With a look at the typical "casoni di Marcesina" we will also discover the history and evolution of the landscape that surrounds us.
Between historical and forest routes we will also talk about the Vaia Storm, its impact on the environment and on the inhabitants. The destruction first and then the rebirth ... exactly as it was with the Great War. In fact, the territory of the Municipality of Enego was one of the most affected by this meteorological event that caused the felling of about 350,000 trees, involving an area of about 1,000 hectares. An intense walk, wrapped in history and nature, to make me understand the impact of man both in the short and in the long term, in our mountains. The majestic work of the Eagle of Vaia by the artist Marco Martalar that will excite us and make us reflect on the connection between man and the nature that surrounds him.
