Artemusica Culture-Concerto for two pianos Liudmila Georgievskaya, Thomas Schwann. Music by Beethoven, Stravinsky

A concert truly not to be missed is the one organized from 28 July Friday night Culture Artemusica, at 21.00, sala Santa Giustina di Roana.
The pianists Liudmila Georgewskaya and Thomas Schwan boast a significant international career, and they will be the stars of the evening in a unique concerto for two pianos.

The piano duo will propose the piano version of two symphonic masterpieces: the Symphony No. 3 "Eroica" by Beethoven, in the courageous transcription for two pianos by Otto Singer, and the rite of spring by Stravinsky, in drafting original for two pianos of the author. Both works contain elements of extraordinary news for their time, and aroused a strong feeling to their look. The Eroica was originally dedicated to Napoleon, but it is said that Beethoven-convinced Republican-tore the dedication after receiving the news of the publicity of Napoleon as emperor. His first run, in 1805, shocked the public and divided the critics for the expressive power, the bold orchestration, and the gigantic proportions of the work. The rite of spring by Stravinsky caused a real scandal at the Paris premiere of 1913: the audience booed and left the room after a few minutes since the beginning of the run. A few years later, the Festival was already one of the most influential and revered compositions of his time.

As always admission is free.
