At the Forte Interrupted screening of an exciting film about the First World War
On Wednesday, August 4th, at 8:45pm, in the evocative setting of the Forte Interrotto in Asiago, the Asiago Film Festival offers an engaging event.
It will start at 20:45 when the Asiago Choir will introduce with its songs the screening of the evening, which will start at 21:00.
The film we will see will be "1918 – Daysof Courage " (original title "Journey's End") directed by Saul Dibb, starring Sam Claflin, Asa Butterfield and Paul Bettany.
Set in March 1918,when the Great War has raged for almost four years now and is coming to an end, it tells of a group of British soldiers led by Captain Stanhope, who await, in a trench on the Western Front French, the approach of German troops.
In the meantime, the captain drowns his fear in the whiskey, while the officers and the cook run away with food and reascur old memories. In this climate comes the young officer Raleigh, fresh from training, who has been assigned to the battalion of Stanhope, his childhood friend. In him, however, he will find a man very different from that of the past and learn to know him again in the six days of waiting before the enemy offensive.
