2° Civil Pilgrimage Recalling the little masters, Sunday 16 June departure from Gallium
For the second time ISTREVI (Istituto Storico della Resistenza e dell ' Age Contemporanea della provincia di Vicenza) organizes Civil Pilgrimage in memory of the little masters. The ' event will take place Sunday, June 16 at 8.30 hours departure from Campomulo.
The little masters is a novel by Luigi Meneghello, published in 1964; This book is one of the most important testimonies of partisan struggle of resistance in Italy.
The places where grew the story of little masters are a popular collective and individual visits.
Many people rise in ' Asiago plateau mainly to honor the memory of some young people who died fighting for freedom in the summer of 1944; the ' historical aspect is fundamental for the numerous visits to this area.
From the presentation of prof. R. Camurri -June 2012:
Because many go up there? Essentially to honor the memory of some young people who died fighting for freedom in the summer of 1944. Yes, of course, but not only.
The time has come to admit without hesitation that there is something special that draws us on places of little masters and beyond passion for pages by Meneghello: this something is the beauty of this story of young Italians who decided to carry out an act of rebellion and of going to fight in the mountains.
Is the extreme naturalness and simplicity of that adventure, the antiretorica that dominates the story of the protagonists; is the centrality that the word freedom is in this affair, "from" freedom and liberty "of"; is the moral health of a figure like that of Antonio Giuriolo.
