Commemorazione dell eccidio di Granezza 2024

On Sunday,  September 1, 2024 , the commemoration ceremony for the 80th anniversary of the Granezza massacre will be held, an event in memory of the Fallen of all wars, but particularly to commemorate the Fallen of the "Div. Alpina Monte Ortigara" (Plateau of the 7 Municipalities - Vicenza), of the other partisan formations, of the C.I.L. and the Deportees and former Internees in the prison camps, and to pay homage, on Monte Corno del Caduto, to the Unknown Fallen for Freedom.

The event is organized by the Permanent Committee for the Commemoration of the Resistance of the Alto Vicentino, in collaboration with the Municipalities of Asiago, Lugo di Vicenza and Lusiana Conco, as well as with the Association of Volunteers of Freedom of Vicenza.

Program of the Ceremony

The commemoration will take place according to the following program:

  • 09:30 am: meeting at Monte Corno, in the Municipality of Lusiana Conco, at the Monument "To the Unknown Fallen for Freedom", which will be the starting point to pay homage to the fallen.
  • 10:00 a.m.: departure from Monte Corno towards Bocchetta Granezza, in the Municipality of Lugo di Vicenza, where the Honors at the Memorial Stone to the Fallen of SPEER will take place
  • 10:30 a.m.: arrival in Granezza, in the Municipality of Asiago, at the Sacellum in honor of the Fallen for Freedom 1943-45 where the ceremony with Honor to the Fallen, Holy Mass and commemorative speech will take place.
The commemoration will be accompanied by the notes of the Gialino Band "LA 33" of Lugo di Vicenza and the evocative singing of the "Coro Monte Pasubio" of Schio, which will make the memory of the fallen even more intense and participatory.

This ceremony represents not only a moment of remembrance and homage to the fallen of the Resistance, but also an opportunity to reflect on the values of freedom, democracy and justice that guided the partisans during the tragic events of 1944-45. Participating in this event means honoring the memory of those who fought and lost their lives for a better future, and renewing our commitment to preserving and promoting these fundamental values in today's society.

The invitation is open to all those who wish to join this day of remembrance and reflection.
