On Wednesday, July 16, 2025, the Plateau of the Seven Municipalities will gather in a moment of deep spirituality and collective memory, on the occasion of the 37th anniversary of the visit of Pope John Paul II, which took place on July 16, 1988.
To celebrate this significant anniversary, a Holy Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. at the memorial stone dedicated to the Holy Father, on Mount Longara, in the territory of Gallio. A natural setting of rare beauty, a symbol of the deep bond between the highland community and the figure of Pope Wojtyla, who landed right up here on that day in 1988 and left an indelible mark on the hearts of those who welcomed him.
The anniversary represents a precious opportunity for residents and holidaymakers to join in prayer and reflection, renewing the values of peace, fraternity and dialogue that the Holy Father has always strongly witnessed.
In case of bad weather, the celebration will be held in the parish church of Gallio.
The event is open to all, especially those who wish to participate in this moment of gathering and paying homage to the message and spiritual legacy of St. John Paul II.
