On Monday 28 August 2023 a trekking excursion with donkeys to Monte Lemerle is scheduled to relive the crucial phases of the Strafexpedition, which in these mountains poured heavily on our soldiers placed to defend as the last bastion on the Venetian plain. Thanks to them, in fact, the Austro-Hungarian troops were prevented from descending into the Venetian plain, from where they could easily advance to the big cities with dramatic consequences. We will also admire some fortifications of the British army, which in those years was sent to fight in our mountains in support of the Italian troops.

The excursion will start at 9.30 am and end at 12.30 pm

INFORMATION:

DEPARTURE: 9:30 am at the parking lot of the Palaciclamino di Cesuna, VI

DIFFERENCE IN ALTITUDE: 200 m

LENGTH: about 7 km

TO TAKE ON AN EXCURSION: mountain boots, long trousers, layered clothing, hat and sunscreen. Do not forget water for the entire duration of the excursion (at least 1.5 liters) as there are no water supply points during the route.
