Destination: the districts and woods of Roana di Sotto 

Event organized and co-financed in collaboration with the Municipal Administration of Roana and the Pro Loco of Roana.

The Val d'Assa is one of the three largest and deepest valleys of the Plateau and from Roana towards Canove it takes on the appearance of a canyon. A lush canyon, rich in biodiversity where among the mixed and fir woods it is easy to lose track of time while admiring the different species of flowers present.

During the hike you will not only discover the wonderful nature that surrounds you but also the close connection that unites the mountain people to the forests. From hunting to sourcing timber in history, from mushroom hunting to collecting sap and resin...

📈DIFFICULTY: we assign difficulty 2 on a scale from 1 (very easy) to 5 (challenging)

The route does not present any particular technical difficulties, is suitable for everyone and develops between dirt roads and mountain paths and some short stretches of paved road with little traffic. The uphill elevation gain is less than 250 m, there are no exposed sections. 

🎒TO BRING ALONG: mountain boots, layered clothing suitable for the mountain climate (long trousers warmly recommended), waterproof jacket, backpack with water for the duration of the excursion, a small snack such as dried fruit, head torch with fixed red light, possible blanket to sit down to observe the stars and watch the show.

🫰COST: €10 for the guided excursion per person. Free for children under 15 years old.
