Thursday 2 January 2025 – Gallio, Asiago Plateau
Immersing yourself in the snow of the Melette di Gallio, following in the footsteps of Mario Rigoni Stern, one of the greatest storytellers of the mountains of our plateau, is a unique experience that combines nature and culture.
The route, easy and suitable for everyone, will wind through clearings and snow-covered pastures and then enter the majestic fir and larch forests. During the excursion, you will have the opportunity to discover the places that inspired the works of Rigoni Stern, the writer who was able to capture the simple and authentic life of the mountains with sensitivity.
The guides will accompany you along paths rich in history, among the remains of the First World War front, the mountain huts and woods that are the backdrop to the writer's most famous stories.
It will be an opportunity to get to know not only the places, but also the life of Rigoni Stern: his experiences during the war, the period of imprisonment and the deep bond with his native land, which permeates his every word.
An unmissable opportunity for those who love nature, literature and history.
