What is the Cimbrian language really? What are the most effective strategies to preserve and enhance it in the current context?
These questions will be answered on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at 17:00, during the meeting "Hàltabar au de Zunga!", which will be held in Asiago, at the council chamber of the town hall.
The event will see the participation of Prof. Luca Panieri of the IULM University of Milan, a scholar of Germanic linguistics and author of the new dictionary and grammar of the Cimbrian of the Seven Municipalities.
It will be an important opportunity to reflect on the cultural and identity value of the Cimbrian language, a unique linguistic heritage that has its roots in the centuries-old history of the Plateau.
Organized with the support of the Institute of Cimbrian Culture of Roana, the City of Asiago and the Unitary Committee of the Germanic Historical Linguistic Islands in Italy, the meeting is part of a path of awareness and promotion of linguistic minorities.
The event is open to the public and represents a precious opportunity to get to know one of the most authentic expressions of the cultural tradition of the Plateau.
